Hikvision designed the Hikvision DS-2CD2T85FWD-I5/I8 as a network bullet camera with an 8 MP video quality providing 4K video resolution. It purports to offer all sorts of very clever services such as: you theoretically can set a field of vision within the view of one of the cameras and if anything moves into this field of vision, it sends you an alert. Called HIK next day they took the details and called me back a few hours later and told me that unfortunately I would not be able to have their product at my house and get this they blamed the NBN ( my connection is HFC down the old foxtel line TPG 50 down 20 up package )They said they've had issue where the NBN was installed. The 2-way audio is excellent compared to my Ring doorbell I had. With the audio echo issue , you need to install IVMS-4200 , and team viewer installed on a laptop. Layer upon layer of menus where the menu headings don't give any good clue as to what the options contained within might be. Eventually the service company said, "if you call us again, we'll have to charge you". This is the most pathetic brand ever, i couldnt explain in words on how messed up hikvision is, all there firmware, hardwear,software dont match anything, there unreliable and designed to go to admin recovery password through the cmos time clock as it is worse than a nigerian scam, i went SWANN after 4 days of continous mess around, IT around with it and the after sales service is more pathertic than the name, go SWANN and you would be as happy as a pig in mud, plug and play baby, hikvision wouldnt know what that even means, you can take a picture of its own barcode and comes back as it cant recongise its own generated barcode, thats a e.g of million words in one sentence, and it all configures out to saying "your getting ripped off hard" if you purchase this product, i work for IT and i would never ever buy this product again, and that is coming from someone with 30yrs experience, i have had so many DVR's come back to me with admin password locks, lost so much money from this company in time mangement, but im getting back on my feet with the company SWANN, thank god there is someone out there that is not going to rip you off, had no complaints in the last 3 years, I've used some cheaper dvrs and camera's and they all worked but the picture quality was not good at night I decided to go for a hikvision nvr and the dark fighter cameras and wow what a difference the night vision is like the lights are on and the image is crisp and very clear I found setting the system up very easy im not an expert but after setting up a few different dvrs up it was no harder to set-up than 1 off the cheaper systems the app seems to be working fine all in all I wish I'd gone for hikvision first would of saved money trying to make a cheaper system work like hikvision.
