I have upgraded my transformer with a 16A 30 VA, no improvement. But for now, Ring seems to continue to have its hands full with this one. It looks like despite many attempts to track down the culprit, certain Ring doorbells are still experiencing distortion with their two-way audio stream, when trying to communicate with the person at the door. If not, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the application as the best first step. Possibly a noise gate feature or something trying to prevent the speaker and the microphone from stepping on each other, that just isn’t working out, or a bad compression algorithm. The end result, was exactly the same. If you are after the chime, send me a message or email me at jennifer@ring.com. Use our Search bar at the top for quick results. Ring support did try lowering the mic volume and it did get better, but did not go away. Again, for some these solutions have worked, however for others it is still an ongoing issue. The Community is full of answers! So I am having a similar issue, unlike the screeching 'feedback' type issue you guys are talking about, When doing full duplex communication, I have a hard time hearing the people at the front door with the audio constantly cutting out from the ring to my phone... not like a cut out from a bad wifi signal (i have a Ubquiti unifi-pro AP less than 8 feet away so i have excellent signal) , like some sort of noise cancellation that is definitely not function correctly... does it on my tablet and my phone... the only way to be able to hear people at the front door is to answer the door and speak, and then immediately mute the mic on the phone app to hear the people at the door, and then un-mute to talk again, ect... Just started a chat with support and they sent a hard reboot to the ring pro, which of course did nothing... wish they had an option to just make it a push to talk if they can't get this right... it sucks for a $250 door bell! I've found a work around and that is to mute the mic when the person at the door speaks. Although video quality can be fantastic and everything else working pretty fluidly, the audio continues to suffer, which leads us to believe that this may have something to do with firmware. I have been fighting with my Ring Pro for a few months to get it setup so it works as it should. Between you and customer support I have spent hours on this is issue and other doorbell issues as well. Really awful screech. I had a problem with my Moto X and several older moto phones where it would echo endlessly. Ring has sent me multiple replacement units that all function in the same way. Would either of these scenarios fit? My replacement Ring Pro, upgraded doorbell transformer, and Chime Pro didn't solve the issue either. I sent you a email, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. If I use it like you normally would with audio and microphone enabled I seem to get a screeching sound that I believe is feedback between the speaker and the microphone. We will be happy to share this with the team for further review. Noises and can’t talk to anyone through the Ring doorbell....anyone figured it out yet?? I have tried using headphones as suggested here, but didn't fix my problem. Please note that some of our stories may contain affiliate links. Another potential solution. Ring is sending a chime bypass to take my traditional chime out of the loop and see if that could be the cause. If not, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the application as the best first step. Amazon Prime Day is a few days away – Here are some deals already available! It is not a big deal however it is kind of annoying. After that I am at a loss of what to do. If they cannot fix the issue they need to drop the duplex audio and change the app to have a push to talk button so that the mic and speaker are never enabled at the same time as this appears to cause the issue. Everything else is working well with the Ring Pro doorbell. It is hard to believe that it could be a massive supply of defective hardware.
